My DVD/CD drive won't work?

I have a Dell Vostro 1700 with Windows 7. My disc drive won't work . it opens and takes discs , but it shows up under "Computer" as BD-ROM Drive (E:) and when i click it an error comes up and it says "E:/ application not found" . iTunes tells me that I don't have disc burning software and when I put in discs nothing happens . I can't use blank cds or use music cds or movies on dvd . if i click "Manage" when i right click "Computer" and go to the device manager , it shows up under cd/dvd drives as "DADYHQ BGHYB012 SCSI Cd Rom Device" . i tried updating it but it says that its updated as much as it can be , and it tells me under its properties that it is working properly . please help .
