Can I use E10 (ethanol-blended gasoline or gasohol) with my car?

Im using a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 (Im not sure if it's 2002 or 2004 model). and I wanna know if I can use it without any risk for my car. It was a graduation gift from my dad and he'll kill me if I mess up with it. I wanna use E10 because of its being environment-friendly, not to mention its low cost too. I'd appreciate ur answers! A little discussion of the pro's and con's would be of much help. Thanks so much for helping me out!
