Is Brigadier General in the US Army a high rank?

Hello. Today I met a nice army gentleman at a church dinner. I obviously never met him before and we had a fun time talking and stuff. And as we left, he gave me a name card and told me that I could contact him if I had any questions. And on his namecard shows that his rank is Brigadier general. Just out of curiousity, is the rank in a high one? It doesn't matter at all if it's low but I just want to know because I know nothing about military ranks. thanks.
