ESL teachers: can you recommend the best route for my friend to take?

i am an experience ESL teacher and i you can tell you friend the best way to improve your spelling in english is to actually READ as much as possible. magazines, books, the closed captions on the television...anything. the reason being, english is not spelled pheonetically, and so english speakers actually learn to spell by memorizing certain patterns, which are learned by SEEING...ie READING. tell your friend to read, and really look at the words as she reads. if she reads deliberately, paying attention to the words, her spelling could improve dramatically....with little effort as far as taking cles, or studying
